Instead of leaving the standard WP message in here, I thought I better fill this in so everyone can know who I am. (like you care, right?)

First off, I am a husband and father to 3 wonderful children. I live in a tiny town in south central Pennsylvania and I have no intentions of moving anywhere near a large city. I love my rural life and the slow pace that I can live. Also, it is much cheaper, so my ballin bankroll can last even longer here.

A bit of background about me. I was a finance manager at a local Honda dealership for about 3 years until I got pretty sick and needed to work from home really. I am the only one with a college degree and my wife had to take a waitress job, so I know I needed to make money somehow. Within 3 months, I had learned how to get by on affiliate marketing so that she could leave her job. In 6 months, I had got about 75% of my old income back and within a year, I was back to the same income I made at the Honda dealership.

I’ve had multiple stomach surgeries, blood clots, pancreatitis twice(and I don’t drink!), adrenal crises, been in the ICU and much more to the tune that I can’t even count how many times I was in the hospital in the past 4 years. Not exaggerating, but my medical records from this time period is over 800 pages according to my doctor. To this day, I can’t be off a high dose of hydrocortisone at all or my sodium levels drop to near comatose levels. My endocrinologist says my body’s adrenal system is destroyed and I will probably never be able to produce adrenaline on my own again. The proper term for this is called Cushing’s disease and there are other side effects, but the main one is severe fatigue.

Enough of the pity party though. My wife and I agreed that someone should always be at home with our children, as we didn’t want to do day care. Plus, our daughter is autistic and has a very hectic schedule with therapists and school, so it is in our best interest. My first success was actually with an incentive site that I ran for about 1 1/2 years. I bought the site for less then $100 and made more from that site then I thought I could. I sold it and it went to the craphole after that and the new owner hasn’t even reopened it. But the incentive marketing side at least introduced me to affiliate networks and contacts that made it possible to transition to a better business model.

I am not a “super” affiliate or anything like that. I am a real person who makes real money in affiliate marketing. Yes, I make more then my finance manager position and get to stay home. I love it. I wouldn’t give it up for anything to be honest. My income is great and is where I always thought it would be, in the 6 figures. I don’t really attend conferences and I am actually somewhat sheltered networking-wise, which I am trying to break out of.

I lurk around and post every now and then at Wickedfire.com under the user name moratraffic. Believe it or not, this was actually the first AM forum that I found and thank god I did. I lurked forever there and just read over and over again till my eyes hurt. But I learned a ton. Sure, it is filled with a bunch of assholes, but those assholes know what they are talking about. You just need thick skin and know someone is going to flame you. Just don’t take it personal.

Right now, I mostly do biz-ops, dating, diet and some financial stuff here and there. I use the big PPC platforms for a good part of my PPC traffic but I also use other traffic sources that I won’t give out. I do media buys as well as pay per view advertising and I do have a tiny email marketing list that has been golden for me. And I also do local website/SEO building campaigns for businesses as a pretty solid side project.
